Call to Worship – 14th February 2021

Welcome to Church especially if you are visiting with us today.

We are just one of many gatherings of the body of Christ today on the Lord’s day.

A gathering of the redeemed.

Saved Not through our own hand, but by the grace of God.

Ephesians 2:1-10

2 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

We are not saved by anything we have done. No, we are saved because of God’s great love. If it wasn’t for his Mercy and Grace, we would be lost in our sin forever.

Romans 5:8 … God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

We are saved, not by works, but by the Grace of God, through faith in Jesus Christ. We boast not in our own flesh, but in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Let us do that today…

Let us Pray

Dear Father, we did not deserve your love. Rather we deserved your righteous anger and wrath. And yet in love, you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place. And you have made us alive in him. May we grasp just a little more of what this means today.

You have not just redeemed us from death and hell, but you have given us your Holy Spirit now to teach us, lead us, convict us and help us in our daily walk with you.

We thank you and we praise you this morning, In Jesus name Amen.
