Welcome and Call to Worship

1 Timothy 1:12-17 Christ Jesus Came to Save Sinners

12 I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, 13 though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent.

But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, 14 and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

15 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.

16 But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.

17 To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory forever and ever. Amen.

At Christmas we honour Christ our King, who came, truly as a baby, in the flesh, taking on a human nature, and yet in no way diminishing his divine nature which he shares in the Godhead – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Christ Jesus came to save sinners!

We do not deserve mercy and yet In Christ we are declared righteous. And we can be sure of this as our Lord is KING, and reigns now and forever. We look forward to his second coming, what a glorious day that will be.

Thank you, Father, that you sent your Son, Jesus, who lived and died in our place.

Taking on our punishment, that we deserve. So that we can be declared righteous in your eyes.

Not by works but by Grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone.

In the Glorious name of Jesus Christ and through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit we come to worship you.

In Jesus Name Amen.
